Silverboom are top quality wines from South Africa - the result of top-notch winemakers and generous nature. South Africa has undergone a colossal change in recent decades and today the country is capable of delivering a sea of wonderful wines. One of the main reasons for this is the location of the country. In addition to skilled winemakers, good wine requires a number of factors: sun, heat, cold and a good soil. All this is present in South Africa. In recent years, South Africa has also fostered a new and innovative generation of winemakers.
The vines, from which the Chardonnay grapes for this wine come, grow in the well-drained fields of the Coastal Region, where the soil is characterised by slate and granite. The grapes are harvested in the early morning hours in mid-February. Immediately after the harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery, where they are stalked and carefully pressed to avoid crushing the seeds. The must rests overnight before the grape vase is filtered off and the must is transferred to stainless steel fermentation tanks. Here the wine undergoes a controlled fermentation at a low temperature of approx. 18 degrees, this process typically takes 3-4 weeks. After fermentation, the wine is stored in oak barrels for 3-5 months before being bottled and released to the market.
Elegant straw yellow in the glass with beautiful golden strokes. In the scent there are notes of citrus, green apples and melted butter. In the mouth the wine is experienced as creamy and deliciously full-bodied without being overpowering. In the taste the same notes are recognised as in the aroma and are complemented by a nice balance between sweetness and acidity. A beautiful and harmonious wine, where the oak is finely integrated into a long and lasting aftertaste.
Silverboom Chardonnay is a great companion to light dishes, such as salads, pasta, fish and poultry. Serving temperature: 10-12 ° C.
