Brewed in Erding, Bavaria, this is a fuller and slightly stronger take on the classic Erdinger Weißbier, combining the brewery's characteristic wheat beer yeast and gentle fruitiness with a more substantial malt body and a noticeably more pronounced hop bitterness.

At 5.7% ABV, Oktoberfest sits just above the standard ERDINGER Weißbier, but the difference is about more than alcohol. The extra strength gives the beer a richer, rounder presence, while the carefully balanced malt profile brings a satisfying depth to the palate. It remains unmistakably a wheat beer, with its characteristic gentle carbonation and subtle fruity yeast character, but there is more weight behind every sip.

The appearance immediately sets the scene. A deep golden-yellow colour, fine natural cloudiness and a generous white head give it the classic look of a Bavarian Weißbier, while the aroma brings together delicate yeast, fresh fruit and subtle hop notes. On the palate, smooth malt comes first, followed by a more pronounced bitterness than you would normally expect from the classic ERDINGER Weißbier. The result is full-bodied without becoming heavy, with a lively carbonation keeping the finish fresh.

Erdinger describes its Oktoberfest as a full-bodied seasonal speciality and highlights its traditional Bavarian maturation, or “Bayerische Edelreifung”. It is brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law using water, wheat malt, barley malt, hops and yeast. The brewery also makes a special exception for this beer when it comes to serving tradition: it recommends enjoying Oktoberfest from a traditional one-litre stoneware stein, which keeps the beer cool while adding exactly the sort of Bavarian festival atmosphere the beer was designed for.
